OPAL SOLID – WHITE CRYSTAL 7.97 CTS. MATERIAL FROM MINTABIE SOUTH AUSTRALIA. This Type 1 opal creation has been cut to form a’Pear/Teardrop’ shape design and displays a mass of pinpoints of red, gold and greens. This stone, cut as a cabochon, highlights beautiful classic qualities of distinction that are unique to white crystal opal. It is rated by me as N9 in body tone (a nice clean white) and has a brightness of around B3. There are a couple of small sand inclusions as indicated in one of the photos, however, these are barely noticeable without magnification. It weighs 7.97ct and measures 19mm x 17mm (grading to a point) with a thickness of 2.5mm. Apart from cropping they have not been enhanced in any way. Now only dabbling as a hobbyist, the material I present for sale (rough or finished) has been either mined or prepared by me and therefore I try to keep prices as realistic as possible.
